Millennium By-Laws
ARTICLE I – NAME
The official name of this organization shall be MILLENNIUM GROUP.
ARTICLE II – MISSION STATEMENT
The Millennium Group is dedicated to promoting education, preserving culture and history of all citizens and providing social and cultural experiences for the community.

ARTICLE III – MEMBERS
Members of this organization shall be made of citizens of Nelson County, individuals who once lived in Nelson County and other individuals who have shown an interest in preserving the Center known as Nelson Heritage Center Persons can become members by paying an annual membership fee and being willing to contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the Center.
ARTICLE IV – OFFICERS
President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer
These officers shall perform the duties prescribed by these by-laws and the parliamentary authority adopted by the organization. Officers shall serve as long as is deemed appropriate by the Board.

ARTICLE V – MEETINGS
Regular meetings of the organization shall be held once a month unless otherwise ordered by the Board.
ARTICLE VI – BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors shall be composed of between seven and thirteen members. Board members need to be present in person or electronically at each regular meeting. Missing more than three consecutive meetings in a year can be reason for removal from the board.
The board shall have full power and authority over the affairs of the organization.
ARTICLE VII – AMBASSADORS OF THE CENTER
Ambassadors of the Center maybe nominated by any member to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will make final determinations regarding Ambassadors. Ambassadors must have a passion for building and nurturing positive relationships between the Center and the community and government. They must be supportive of fund raising activities. Ambassadors have the option of attending board meetings but do not vote on actions or make motions.

ARTICLE IX – RULES OF ORDER
The rules contained in the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised govern this organization in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with these bylaws and any special rule or order the organization may adopt.
ARTICLE X – AMENDMENT OF BYLAWS
The bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the organization by a two-thirds vote provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing at the previous regular meeting.
